Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The newly introduced UAE Dirham symbol (referenced by the Central Bank of the UAE) is not yet available in Noto Sans. Since we use Noto Sans Arabic for the Arabic UI in the talabat app, we’d like to ensure that the currency symbol is properly supported in the typeface!
Describe the solution you'd like
I’d like to request the addition of the new UAE Dirham symbol to Noto Sans Arabic so that it can be used seamlessly across UI designs without needing workarounds or substitutions.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Currently, the workaround involves using a different font or manually inserting the symbol as an image, but this is not an ideal solution for a scalable UI.
Additional context
I’ve attached a reference from the Central Bank of the UAE that details the new Dirham symbol (Image added below)
Let me know if there are any plans to add it to Noto Sans Arabic and if there’s an estimated timeline for when it might be available. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
