CoverageJSON V1.0.1 to include:

  • Version Object [agreed that a standard was both text and schemas, therefore patches may be significant, therefore three level versions (V1.n.m)]
  • OGC registers as well as original [agreed namespaces and resolving URIs can be added to existing community register, and Gobe Hobona is setting up OGC register]

CoverageJSON V1.1 to include

  • Extra Time dimension in domain
  • Ensemble Dimension in domain
  • Custom dimensions (like API EDR and API Coverages)
  • Optional OMS namespace for comprehensive observation attributes model [see above]

Timescale/timeline:

  • OGC Tech Committee Oct 2025, Colorado

  • GeoZARR [first Wed of the month at 15:00 UTC is the meeting of GeoZarr group, working on using CF-NetCDF as basis for "geo"]
  • EDR Part 3 Profile Support [API-Features have drafted Part 5: Schema, not inconsistent with API-EDR Part 3, may become part of API-Common]
