Menu Bar Icon missing on macOS 26

Describe the bug

The Plover menu bar icon is missing on macOS 26.

Operating system

• OS: macOS Tahoe 26.0
• Plover Version 5.0.0

Hardware

M1 mac mini

Seems like macOS gets confused because Qt bypasses NSApplicationMain, see Apple developer forum and this Qt bug opened by the same person.

Adding notarization (#1769) doesn't help and macOS 26.0.1 still has the same issue.

Still no luck with finding a proper solution for this but when running Plover like this, the menu bar icon does show up:

nohup /Applications/Plover.app/Contents/MacOS/Plover >/dev/null 2>&1 &

The disadvantage is that in the task menu, the task shows up as python3.13 or just python.

I was able to reproduce the issue with a minimal test project. It's a problem with macOS 26 for which I filed a bug report (FB21015611). See also the developer forum thread linked above.

This problem still occurs on macOS 26.2.

I also commented on the bug report but no response there yet.
