brlaser (Brother laser printer driver)

I know you understandably have other priorities right now, but just throwing this out there as a request to add the cups printer driver for Brother monochrome laser printers. The Generic driver doesn't work, unfortunately.

Could I ask what printer you own and if that github driver worked for you. I will then try to package some drivers.

I have an HL-L2340dw and yes, I built that github brlaser on my system and it works fine for me, but of course I have to reinstall it after every sync update. Thanks!

As a (short term) workaround, could you potentially prefix it to /usr/local instead of pure /usr?

aerynOS/recipes#2170 Would it be smart to merge to volatile and let novakwh test the driver from there?

Give us some time to mull it over. We're currently working on acceptance criteria for package requests in general.

I have closed my PR since printers are hell, but you can take the recipe and build it yourself (it is really easy and I offer you my help if you require it on the aerynos zulip). Or if ermo's suggestion worked than that's also great.
