Looking for a PC-Bluetooth adapter working under LINUX

I started 2 years ago with a Logilink Adapter and was not happy. Now I have a new project based on SmartiBot and the Espruino Web IDE for Smartibot.

But even this is still not working. May be my used Logilink adapter is not suited?
Anyone working with the Web IDE under Linux, may be OpenSuse Tumbleweed? And can recommend a Bluetooth USB Adapter.

Hi,

Are you the developer of Smartibot, or are you using their device? If you have any issues with their IDE please contact them - Espruino is open so other companies can obviously just copy everything and rebrand it, but if they do that then they should support their own users.

For Espruino itself there's a getting started page at http://www.espruino.com/Quick+Start+BLE#requirements that suggests some BLE dongles that work just fine. I personally develop everything on Linux so I know it works fine.

Hi Gordon,
I have two different devices, some Puck.js and the Smartibot, using both as normal user.
I will follow your suggestion and will order a Plugable USB-BT4LE and hope to have more success then in the past.

Ok, great! I'm not up to speed on OpenSuse versions, but ideally you'd have a reasonably new release so you don't have to mess about trying to update the bluetooth package. This might be quite handy: http://www.espruino.com/Web+Bluetooth+On+Linux

Got it today, and surprisingly - it works.
The IDE connected successfully with the first try. Downloading the blink example too!

Do you have a link to your Logilink adaptor so I can add something to the readme mentioning that it might not work?

Don't remeber where I bought it, sorry. dmesg says:

That's really interesting. I'm using exactly the same chipset (CSR8510 A10) with the same vendor/product ID under Linux and it works great. Maybe your adaptor is actually faulty?
