Puck.js button getting physically stuck #7724

Hi - sorry to hear this - are these Puck.js 2, or Puck.js Lite? The Puck.js 2 should have been pretty much identical through the years (I may have even had a slightly stronger button fitted in the most recent batch ~1 year ago), but for Puck.js Lite we did change because the battery holder was a bit too tall and actually made them too hard to press in sometimes! Some things to check:
Often if the Puck isn't in there at the right angle the button can have difficulty pushing it up. It might be an idea to have the cover off and press it and see if you can see if there's any issue. There are 'ratbites' on the board itself from where it is made (at the top and bottom edges) and it's possible that they protrude slightly more than they should and so catch slightly. If so you could just run over them with a nail file or other sandpaper to take them in a bit and that'll fix it. If that's the problem please let me know - I'll try and make sure that when breaking them out in future we check them more carefully. |

Hello!
I’ve recently started working with my new batch of Puck.js devices (ordered on 18 December 2024), and I’ve noticed that the buttons on all five devices tend to get physically stuck from time to time. I tested each one individually and observed the same issue across the board.
Interestingly, I’ve never encountered this problem with the Pucks I ordered previously (back in 2019 and 2022) — they’ve all been working flawlessly.
I’ve attached a video demonstrating the issue:
puckjs.mp4
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Any suggestions or fixes would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
