Plotting methods

Heya!
I'm sitting with the challenge of plotting some massive data-sets. I was wondering whether it would be useful to do a benchmark on that? I'm thinking packages like scattermore and ggrastr, which minimises file sizes without filtering the data beforehand.

Common big data visual representations such as:

• Points
• Lines
• Rasters
• More?

Features could be:

• Writing speed
• Resulting file size
• Anti aliasing
• Various options e.g. setting DPI
