Some neat tools I use:

• Kaleidoscope (merge tool) - easiest to set up integration inside Kaleidoscope settings (will modify your .gitconfig)
• Tower (GUI) - to get an overview during merge conflicts and doing larger commits it's nice to have a GUI. For simpler things I just use the CLI.
• 1Password integration - I have my SSH keys set up in 1password. It also allows me to Git commit sign automatically with it - a nice little extra. Will also modify .gitconfig a bit
