What does the storage settings say how large the database is? Do you really only have 4 items in your history? (The list is scrollable)

I also had this situation, my process occupied more than 4G of memory. I killed the process, and the memory was released.

Yes, I just cleared all the history and restarted the app.

636.7 MB of storage feels very high for just 4 items. You can check the disk size of storage by looking for the sqlite database file inside $HOME/Library/Containers/org.p0deje.Maccy/Data/Library/Application Support/Maccy/

Hello I looked at the directory and found

Then I cleared Maccy's clipboard history and restarted Maccy, but found that the Storage size did not decrease.

You have a maximum (999) history size, even though just 4 is visible. Having such a storage size for 999 items is expected.

I'm having the same issue (Maccy 2.6.1, on macOS 26–26.3).

I limit Maccy up to 29 items. Its database, for some unknown reason, is at 240,2 MB.

Deleting the history and restarting the app fixes the issue temporarily. It doesn't take much time to its memory usage balloon (right now, ~360 MB).

Since i work with illustrator, photoshop and code etc.. i understand that it can grow quite a bit
I have my history at 200. 165mb was visible after that setting.. But memory usage in activity window showed a whooping 11GB!
Even more then illustrator itself (big design, even at 1:10 ratio)

Love maccy and will try to debug some things myself. Hope i can help with the issue if i can find the time.

As a workaround, I'm using sleepwatcher to kill Maccy when macOS sleeps and open it when the system wakes up.

After installing it (MacPorts or Homebrew), add these lines:

open -a Maccy' > ~/.wakeup
chmod +x ~/.wakeup

Not ideal, but keeps Maccy's memory usage under control.

For me, the database size is reasonable, but the memory in Activity Monitor is 3x as much.
