Click "Always Alive"
Sent to "App Battery Usage" permissions page
Scrolled down to "Tetherfi" and clicked
"Allow background usage" is the only permission and it is enabled
Leave after realizing the only other options are Open, Uninstall and Force Stop
Repeat

Android 14

Hi, can I get a screenshot of the page it brings you to? What kind of device do you have?

Let me test around, maybe Google changed the Intent code for the battery page

For now, you may be able to get there from the System Settings page

Do a search in your device system settings for something like Permission Manager and looks for Special App Access

The Battery Optimization category should be present in that special access list, which is what TetherFi is looking for.

Thanks!

Hi, just tap "Allow background usage" the text not the toggle, and then it'll show the options unrestricted and restricted options.

Wow really? Thats a very tricky UI toggle from a company like Google :)

Aren't the Google engineers supposed to be some of the best :P

Thanks for letting us know! I will revise the in-app instruction text
