Currently, a BeeRef file (at least on Linux) displays the default file icon. As seen below:
When you have lots of files, it begins to blend in with the others. It would make it easier, instead of only relying on the name alone, to distinguish it apart.
An example of how it can be solved, would be how both Krita & Blender - has a small preview of the project in the thumbnail.
