Hi,
I have installed the razer control modules from the driver directory and used the rgb_test fan 500 command to set the fan to 500 because I wanted the fan to be quiet: i get the expected responses:
/sys/module/razercontrol/drivers/hid:Razer laptop System control driver/0003:1532:0239.000
/sys/module/razercontrol/drivers/hid:Razer laptop System control driver/0003:1532:0239.0006
The fan would be quiet the majority of the time, however during software installations or when I start some applications like Kubernetes the fan would just blow up again. Is there a way to set the fan so that it remains quiet all the time?

can you tell me your temps whilst the fans ramp up?

it could be that on the newer laptop's the EC can override what you set to protect the CPU.

500rpm is WAY TOO LOW for heavy CPU load! it basically does nothing at that rpm.

When the fans ramp up, I performed a sensors command and get the following temperatures:

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Package id 0: +50.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 0: +48.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1: +50.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 2: +49.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 3: +47.0°C (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

It seems to be in the middle and not heating up. I'll set rgb_test to a higher value, but sometimes a simple task like installation of software seems to kick up the fan at these temperatures. I'm using this software because I'm running Linux Ubuntu 20.04.
However when I switched over to the Windows operating system and set the manually set the fan settings using the Razer Synapse 3.0 software, the fan remains low regardless of software installation etc and doesn't get overwritten.
