when I do meson configuration, I get

Looks like this file is last touched in #40327 . Not sure when the warning was introduced, maybe it happens earlier.

then the correct solution is to suppress the warning message if the package is not installed?

probably a kind of refactoring - a separate config for optional packages which need it - might be even better.
