Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe

I would like to make a try of this firmware to improve my current led strip backlight of my computer display.
Before making a decision of the hardware I would like to confirm if the firmware is usable with the Gledopto controller. You can get information of this controller here :
gledopto on aliexpress

hi @yaazzz,
yes Glow Worm Luciferin firmware will run no problem on ESP32 so it will run no problem on gledopto,
the real question is,
will you be able to flash it with Glow Worm Firmware considering that the device has no USB port?

if you know how to do it, yes, it will work no problem.

Thanks for your quick reply. As there is anything uart port available I assume an usb to uart will make the trick. I will buy one and make a try.

Well, I received the module. I can not get it detected by Firefly Luciferin. Any idea on what could explain it?

did you flashed the firmware? for simplicity, try flashing the light ones.
can you read the logs of the firmware?
what does it say?

Thank you for your reply.

I flashed the 5.20.2 version (full). I can access to the web browser.

Got it now. The mqtt must be setup up from both side.

@yaazzz yes it would be cool if you can write two lines on how to flash the gledopto. :)
it could be useful for other users in the future.

Here are the quick step I followed. Very easy. The only thing I, missed was that MQTT need to be working to get the module recognise on the windows Luciferin app.

Material :
GLEDOPTO ESP 32 with mic/uart : GL-C-01WL-D

Steps:

  1. Open the box : I used a card (same format as credit card)
  2. /!\ Remove the jumper on the motherBoard
  3. Plug the usb cable on the ESP32 and then on the computer.
  4. Use the normal process to flash the firmware : https://sblantipodi.github.io/glow_worm_luciferin/
  5. Wait for the process to complete and setup the wifi.
  6. unplug the usb cable
  7. put the jumper back on the motherboard
  8. Close the box
  9. Setup the GPIO in Lucerferin Glow : port 16
  10. Setup the GPIO for the button GPIO 0
  11. Setup MQTT
  12. Proceed to Luceferin intall on your computer as usual.

MQTT is no strictly needed. if you disable MQTT on both PC app and the firmware.
if you enable MQTT, MQTT must be enabled on both firmware and pc software and MQTT server must be functional.

How can you connect the ESP32 to the computer?
Do your GLEDOPTO has a build in USB port?

I have seen some gledopto that doesn't have an USB port.
