There are people who have undertaken this without any prior knowledge. BUT it will be a steep learning curve, and there are lots of steps to do that are not documented on this site. The easiest way to get control of your pool equipment over a phone is to use Jandy's iAqualink upgrade board. But that will set you back about $1k for your setup, and be very limited in what you can do/control over this project. Where as this can be setup for as little as $20. At present there are no "turn key" solutions to AqualinkD, I am working on something at the moment, but it's not ready for prime time and I can't really give a date as I do this in my spare time and won't be looking to make any money when I do get something ready. If you want to try this, if you google the below look at the videos and see if it's for you. After that, you can follow instructions on this site. It's all relatively simple until something goes wrong.... :) You should also be aware you will need to connect the Raspberry PI to your Jandy Control Panel, and you can look at the wiki in this site for how to that. So their is some connecting of wires involved. |

Greetings all,
I have stubbled upon this project but I am worried to take it on. I am an older guy that took typing in high school because computers were not a option. I have a jandy RS4 and really would like to be able to control from my phone. My pool set up is pretty basic. Filter pump, Spa with actuator, blower, heater.
I searched on YouTube for a sort of walk through but have not found anything of great use. I have never seen a raspberry PI. Would it be a possibility to buy a preinstalled version and just hook it up to my system?
Thanks for taking time to read my post.
