Description

Bug description

On iOS and on the lastest version of Signal (7.54.1 (727)), searching inside a conversation is not exhaustive.

Steps to reproduce

  • A long conversation (I see the issue on a long conversation of about 30k messages over the last 5 years)
  • Search for a "http" or "https"

Actual result:

  • If I search for "http" I get 212 results.
  • If I search for "https" I get 215 results.

Expected result:
"https" should raise as many or less results as it is more specific than "http"

Actual result:
If I search for "http" the first match is a link from 2021 ("1 of 212"). The last match ("212 of 212") is indeed the first shared in this conversation.

Expected result:
Links between now and 2021 should also appear in the results.

Device info

Device: iPhone 16 Pro

iOS version: 18.3.2

Signal version: 7.54.1 (727)
