I’m currently using my iCloud mail within the iPad mail app as my default SL “real” mailbox with no issues. So I’m pretty sure it’s as simple as adding your proton mailbox to the iPad mail app, then making sure SL points to your proton mailbox as default. However, I’ve NEVER figured out how the reverse alias for replies works. Best I can figure out is you have to “create” an alias based on your recipient’s email, then a sent email forwards to the created alias, however I’m still lost, as this would require going into the app and creating an alias every time you’re replying to an email. Fine for me, because I don’t have the need to reply to many, but I still don’t understand how the recipient RECEIVES the email lol |

Can I send and receive from aliases using other apps like Apple Mail?
I could use help understanding how SimpleLogin aliases and reverse aliases work, as I think the latter might solve my question. But I can’t find mentions of using other apps with this system in the documentation so it gave me pause.
Basically I’m looking at switching to a Proton + SimpleLogin setup, but I mostly work on my iPad and iPhone with Apple Mail. I discovered the concept of reverse aliases here: https://simplelogin.io/docs/getting-started/send-email/
Would these help me email someone from an alias in Apple Mail? If so, I don’t understand the setup process:
Thanks for any help.
