based on the latest 1.8.4 version of clagrange on macos 14.3.1

the TUI fail to launch with the error:

Lagrange: A Beautiful Gemini Client
Error opening terminal: xterm-256color.

i've replicated this in the two terminals i use hyper, and the macos system terminal, open to trying other terminal client if there are confirmed working ones but would love if its possible to get this to work in these two !

This is with the prebuilt clagrange binary?

The error message suggests that Curses is unable to find the terminfo database. In practice, that is a set of files that tells Curses what kind of control sequences to send to the terminal. macOS should provide this, though. You could try launching clagrange like this:

TERMINFO=/usr/share/terminfo clagrange

yes this is based on the prebuilt binary, and that does fix the issue !

it is likely an issue on hyper/macos terminal side then, i tried in another terminal emulator, kitty, and it does work there as it's properly supplying terminfo.
