Podcast Name Change - lost data #43
-
Hi There, we're loving op3 stats! However, we recently changed our podcast name and the feed URL. There are redirects in place and the podcast hosting sites seem to have followed the change ok, but our op3 stats have stopped working. Our show used to be called The Monster Shop, when I search I see two entries for it. We Changed the name to Riffology, which is our new show. If I go into the record for each one and click on the feed, it does redirect to the riffology feed xml. ![]() The two Monster Shop Shows have the following show URLs but both return 404s The Riffology show returns the URL that we've been using, but yesterday and this morning returned a page with no stats, now it returns an error... I'm assuming my renaming and moving things about has screwed things up and we've lost our data? I'm really keen to get it fixed, has anyone got any suggestions please? |

Hey there - cool show Please use this link to access your show stats: https://op3.dev/show/929c7e866c694ee08910a9cd8ce7df77 That link uses the stable op3 internal show id, which will be unchanged by any future hosting changes you make You're right, the feed change + the name change confused OP3 for a bit there, but don't worry as long as you have the OP3 prefix on your show's enclosure urls, no data is ever lost - just temporarily unallocated (to avoid double counting). I just fixed up the duplicate, and reran yesterday's data, and you should be all set - note downloads for 2/5 now appear for that show. Hope that helps! |

That’s awesome!! Thanks so much!!
Ps. Any idea why Spotify doesn’t show in our stats? The show is published there from the same feed but we never see any Spotify data?

I can jump in and answer that - Spotify only offers "pass-through" to large podcast companies, and doesn't offer it to individual self-hosters like you. So, you'll see one Spotify bot connecting to download your audio every episode, and every listener listens to that one copy from Spotify's servers. The way to get your Spotify consumption data is to log into Spotify for Creators.
If you edited your show details and told Spotify that you were hosted at, say, Blubrry or Libsyn, then you would find that passthrough magically worked for you. (This may come with o…
