Try enabling the option "Pass short filenames (8+3)" in Preferences -> Advanced -> MPlayer/mpv and see if that helps. |

Could you send the smplayer log after trying to play one of those files? |

Hello,
Thank you for following.
I'd like to do what you're asking, but how do I access the log?
Where do I send it? Here as a direct reply?
Thanks, see you later

Hello,
I play clips downloaded from the internet, in various formats, especially MKV. I've never encountered a format that SMP doesn't play.
When I copy (select) and drop a video from a folder into the SMP window, regardless of the video format, playback starts.
This remains true even when I load a clip with unusual but recognized characters (Greek, Cyrillic, Extended Latin) such as Ɛ, ɯ, ϕ, δ, and Ћ.
However, after creating a playlist containing video files with such characters in their titles (or names), the playlist doesn't work; these videos don't play, as if SMP doesn't recognize them.
If I skip to the next video, whose name contains more common characters, the video plays.
It all seems to stem from SMP's inability to read certain fonts...
I can't edit video titles so SMP will read them.
Is there a solution to make SMP recognize these characters, since it used to?
Perhaps there were Windows updates that caused these problems, and maybe an SMP update is needed.
Thanks in advance.
