Solax Gen 4 inverter integration & operation

Have been trying to build a HA instance supporting Predbat to operate my Solax G4 inverter + storage batteries and have got most of the sensors and controls sorted, but there is one which Predbat seems to want, but I cannot locate in the Solax Inverter Modbus integration (https://github.com/wills106/homeassistant-solax-modbus) :

Predbat is asking for charge_discharge_update_button but I cannot locate this.

Is this needed? For what?

It seems to that the Solax Inverter Modbus integration does not have a "button" for submitting the updates to settings; there are various settings which are changed via drop-down or keyboard entry and I can confirm (via the Solax Cloud app) that they effect changes. So I'm wondering if there is a different way to set up the "apps" in Predbat to control the setting of the charge/discharge times, etc. in the Solax Inverter?

Have you come across the #259 issue thread?

I put a guide to setting it up, using either the Mode1 remote control (#259 (comment)) or the newer Model 8 option (#259 (comment)). Both should work with the SolaX gen 4 inverters. The config lists the names of each sensor required (as well as how to make a missing load sensor).
Could you give one or the other a go and let me know if there are any issues.

So unless I'm doing something wrong, none of these options seem to have any effect whatsoever.
I've also tried setting a "manual force charge" via the Predbat which seems to have also had no effect.
Clearly I have something wrong! Aaagh!

I can though confirm that direct use of the Solax inverter controls DOES work. I changed the setting for "charge&discharge period2" via the "configuration" settings (part of the integration screen in HA) and I see the change immediately reflected in the Solax Cloud app.
So is something wrong with the script?
I also note that there are several "controls" which are "disabled", but could be "enabled" via drop down settings. I wonder whether this is incorrect or whether the script changes these as necessary.

I think I know why the "manual force charge didn't work: I still had Predbat in "Monitor" mode. Changed this to "Control charge" and re-tried the "manual force charge".

As noted in #259 (comment), make sure all the settings shown there are enabled. You have to do this manually if they are not, the script cannot do it for you.

Where are you now with getting your Solax inverter to work with Predbat?

As @TCWORLD says, the button.solax_powercontrolmode8_trigger error is because you have not enabled the entity, it is disabled by default. The advice on what needs to be set is in the documentation https://github.com/gcoan/batpred/blob/main/docs/inverter-setup.md#solax-gen4-inverters

The other errors don't make sense, they are reporting various predbat entities are having a problem, which suggests a problem with predbat itself. This may be a side effect of the solax script crashing because the button isn't enabled. Or it may be something else and we'd need to see the predbat logs to investigate further
