Agent client protocol (ACP)

Hi,

I recently learned about agent client protocol (ACP) that has been adopted to a few editors like Zed and neovim (through CodeCompanion plugin) to add integration to coding agents like Claude code. I was curious if adding ACP support for this package would bring benefits, or if adopting it has been considered already.

Yes, I was thinking the same. There is the request/issue for supporting other agents/models, like Gemini, so I was thinking the same that ACP might help. It is a new protocol so it might have some caveats.

agent-shell is already a native Emacs shell built on ACP with broad agent support, so I'd rather point people there than duplicate the protocol work here. Closing as tracked upstream.
