FOSS Build Setup

Set up a FOSS (Free and Open Source Software) build of StoryPad for distribution on all FOSS platforms.

Building:

• Use GitHub Actions to automate builds for the Play Store and all FOSS platforms.
• Use Codemagic for building the iOS version.

Features / Notes:

• Remove In-App Purchases (IAP) logic for the FOSS version.
• Ensure the FOSS build runs independently of any paid services.

Currently, I think, we consider this a community (FOSS) flavor. In-app purchases and all premium features should be disabled.

I think this is a fair balance for other users. The full source code is available, so anyone is free to build their own version and enable those features.

Some premium also features depend on Firebase (for example: Relax Sounds and Backgrounds require downloading assets from Firebase). As a result, these features are not guaranteed to work reliably in the FOSS build anyway.

I am fine with paying for apps or donating to devs and orgs.

I try to use as much foss as possible. I use osmand from froid but I pay for it via google. For storypad, I would have to use the play version if I wanted to record audio. Meaning, the existence of a foss version would be useless for me. There would be a verified build but I'd use a different version.

Thanks for considering a release on fdroid. A minimal version is better than nothing.
