Ability to directly link to local media files

I would like to ask, is there a way to create a direct link to a local media file, like it can be done for a local application or a website?
If not, is there a plan for it in the future?

This is an interesting request. It's not currently planned, but may be worth considering.

As a bit of a context, I work for a non-profit that organizes seminars for social workers. Some of those seminars use VR headsets, namely Quest 2 and Quest 3, with a few purpose built applications and 3D videos.
I was looking into how to make the whole process as streamlined as possible for the seminar attendees, basically as few clicks as possible.
All and all, this app already checks out 95% of our requirements, but with this, it would be absolutely perfect.
If you were to consider implementing this request, I would be very grateful, as I don't have any experience with Java, so I unfortunately can't help in that regard.
