It seems that with the code from the "threads" branch, everything seems to be working, no matter whether apache2 is spawning either child threads, processes or both, I don't get anymore the race condition.

I will do further testing when returning to the office.

Tested on Ubuntu 22 on Proxmox VM with SWTPM simulating TPM. We will test with real Infineon TPM on the office.
