Expose Bulk Actions in a Data Grid #4239

Hi Design System Team! I'm working on updating the Subaccounts Management page with a Data Grid that includes bulk actions. In this flow, there may be an account that has hundreds or even thousands of subaccounts. I want to give the users a way to perform an action on multiple accounts at once, such as closing them or resolving a Dormant status. With the current Data Grid component, I'm having trouble showing users all the bulk actions they can take in way that is easily discoverable. The solutions I am envisioning include changing the Data Grid header when 2+ items are selected or introducing a new button (or series of buttons) when there are bulk actions to expose. Some quick mockups of proposed solutions in Figma here. I wanted to kick off a conversation around this as it seems like managing actions in bulk within our data grid is something that would be beneficial to solve at a global level. I'm seeing a similar Github discussions thread here and here. I would love to bring this to office hours and see if any other designers are currently facing or solving the same issue! Current example of the problem space where bulk actions hidden in an overflow menu: |

I did do a search though, and I managed to find these other Discussions that might be similar or related to your question. Give them a read to see if they answer your question. If they do, head back here and update this discussion and mark it as answered, pointing others to the related discussion:
