Shadow of the Erdtree steam pre patch. FPS unlock no longer working #149
Comments
I desperately hope that this will be updated before (if not very shortly after) Erdtrees release. Author help us Tarnished enjoy the Shadowlands at 140 FPS please! |
Hello ! Yes, we need an update now ! Please..... |
I have found what appears to be a workaround. If I run the game in exclusive fullscreen (ingame graphic option) then the mod will not fully work (for me it locks it at 85 fps). However, if I select borderless windowed then the mod works as intended. Hope that helps you! |
Thank you very much, can confirm this worked for me as well! |
I have a PR for this, you have to build it yourself though #147 |
I'm a noob at this, how do I build the new version with this code? |
How to build ? I don't know how.... |
You gotta get a copy of Visual Studios community. |
use action to build it, use it at your own risk |
Is it just for me that full screen no longer seems to work, even with the version from the pull request? I can see how the game blinks as the game launches even with the patch applied, like it sets back to 60hz. Perhaps full screen is handled differently now? Can anyone confirm that they can play with normal full screen with their FPS unlocked? |
same. fullscreen is locked to 60hz. (borderless) windowed works, but doesn't support HDR |
If anyone is using this tool to just get unlocked FPS, you can use the latest version of SpecialK in the meantime. It was just updated and with it I can play fullscreen with HDR enabled and unlocked frame rate. |
Do you need to disable the anticheat for SpecialK as well or can I finally play online with more than 60 FPS? |
Does your Game's lighting also look really weird after using it? Because for me the lighting has a flickering effect. |
I've updated the tool to include the issues listed here. FPS fixes for full screen, resolution fixes and some shadow errors. I haven't tested for too long but should do it: #147 |
Works just fine for me as it did before (regular fullscreen) but it maxes out at 120fps for some reason, there's a chance that they're planning to add an 120fps option, let's pray y'all |
It doesn't have anything to do with them adding a mode. They aren't going to suddenly add in unlocked FPS if they didn't with the launch of the DLC. Mine is locked to 100 FPS, some other peoples is locked to 80 FPS. It's just not working properly currently. |
@AmbiguousInteractive Sadly, I tried the CI build by @liusj5257, and from my understanding Liu's build should be the same as if I build my own (AmbiguousInteractive/EldenRingFpsUnlockAndMore@main...liusj5257:EldenRingFpsUnlockAndMore:main). And when I tried it on my AMD GPU desktop, the game still switches the display refresh rate to 60hz unless I play in windowed modes. |
@liusj5257 's build is not up to date with the latest commits made by @AmbiguousInteractive , which may or may not have anything to do with it. Since I compiled it for myself, figured might as well share it here https://github.com/ipisano/EldenRingFpsUnlockAndMore/releases/ |
@ipisano Huh, I see. @liusj5257 did merge the update, but the release is based on an older commit. I tried the latest build artifact from their GitHub Actions and your release, still no luck. Game forces display refresh rate after the FromSoft logo. I'm using Seamless Co-op, if that matters. |
@escape0707 Check if there's an option in Adrenalin to force/prefer your monitor's maximum refresh rate, I don't own an AMD dedicated GPU anymore so I don't really remember if such an option exists or not. Or you can use CRU to delete the 60hz mode (it's not permanent, don't worry). Or if you just want exclusive fullscreen for the HDR you can get AutoHDR working in borderless fullscreen if you have Windows 11 by using an utility such as ForceAutoHDR (if you go that way make sure to adjust the AutoHDR Intensity option via the Xbox Game Bar overlay once you're in-game). |
outdated after 0730 patch |
Is there another fix that works with the latest 1.16 patch? EDIT: Tried with 1.16 patch and the compile by ipisano works. |
I wanted to notice in advance that the FPS unlock and more tool no longer provides me with 120fps. The startup logos still work but something has obviously changed that makes it not work anymore.
Wanted to give you a headsup.
