Out of Memory issue with a book of mine (font related)

Okay, so comparing CrossPoint 1.4.0 RC2 with CrossInk 1.3.3... and I'm running into some weirdness in one of my books.

The book is Throng: Nomadic Railways, Roaming the Rails (book 1 of 3), in particular chapter 3. The book is uploaded using the File Transfer tool on device, with optimization set on. If I use my custom-built Lexend-Fallback font, CrossPoint works but CrossInk runs out of memory when it's indexing the chapter. If I switch to Lexend Deca on CrossInk, it too is fine, no errors on indexing.

What's additionally weird is that I updated my ePub stress test with similar conditions (okay, worse conditions) and both Lexend Deca and Lexend-Fallback fonts do not trigger the OOM notice on CrossInk. (The stress test is over in CrossPoint's Github Discussions)

So yeah... I got another weird corner case to poke at when you can. I may need to send some books over.

Have you tried it with serial monitor attached to see the exact panic reason?

But do you see an error on the device?

Yes, it does show a "Chapter loaded without some or..." error screen and adds "Available memory was too low to extract every image for this chapter." So if you're wondering, it does gracefully error and warn you that the images won't show (and doesn't show the images).

Oh okay good. And In Crosspoint, the images are able to render? Crosspoint does less parsing and rendering of things than Crossink does, so it's possible that chapter could have more things that Crossink is trying to parse and render therefore lowering available free heap once it gets to the images. If you turn off Embedded Styles and use SD card fonts, do both Crossink and Crosspoint render the chapter fine?

CrossPoint renders the images, no complaints. Any font uploaded into CrossPoint goes on the SD card, no matter how they get pulled onto the device.

Turning off Embedded Styles, removing the fonts added, and copying the "fonts" folder over from CrossPoint to CrossInk works around the issue and the chapter renders with images. (Sadly, I have to enable Extra Paragraph Spacing and Force Paragraph Indents to make it more readable to me -- but that's more of a quality-of-life issue)
