Basic Information

The programs that currently have a proper configuration file (but may still be buggy) are:

• NeoViM (with dein plugin manager)
• Alacritty
• Blender
• Dmenu
• Doom Emacs
• Zsh (with antigen plugin manager)
• Picom (jonaburg fork)
• Mbsync
• ViFM
• Xmonad
• XMobar (needs flag “all-extensions”)
• Starship Prompt
• X11
• SXIV
• Dunst
• Xkbmap
• Bat
• Many Small Shell Scripts

Install

To install the following dependencies are needed:

• git for install and updates
• ripgrep required by all editors
• mu for email indexing in mu4e
• Nerd fonts including: Hack, Dejavu, Meslo, and JetBrainsMono. (not strictly needed, but will make every app basically unusable)
• ueberzug for image previews in ViFM
• xorg-xinit to use startx scripts
• arandr to manage screen resolution
• exa, xdg-open, autojump, and fd for zsh aliases
• blueman, redshift-gtk, network-manager-applet, trayer, xfce4-power-manager for full xmonad

These should all be inside of standard repositories or AUR

Clone this repo into a folder at ~/.config/.dotfiles --bare

To install doom emacs:

1. Clone https://github.com/hlissner/doom-emacs with a depth of 1 into ~/.config/emacs
2. append $HOME/.config/emacs/bin to path (already set up if using zsh)
3. doom install will run initial configuration and install core utils
4. doom sync will install and compile all enabled modules and plugins
5. doom doctor will list all dependencies needed for current plugins. Install all that are needed for you

To install NeoViM:

1. simply enter and exit repeatedly until update and install messages are no longer received
