This issue is used to collect topic suggestions for our March 13, 2025 meeting. We will stop accepting suggestions ~48 hours before the meeting and the final agenda will be added to the meeting notes doc ~24 hours before the meeting.

Note: due to the Daylight Saving Time change in the USA (Pacific, PST -> PDT), the next meeting is at 3 PM UTC instead of the previous 4 PM UTC time. For those in central Europe, the meeting schedule will temporarily shift from 5 PM to 4 PM for the next two meetings (13 and 27 March), until Europe also ends the Daylight Saving Time on March 30th.

The content below this line will be copy-pasted to the agenda section of the meeting.

Agenda

The meeting will start at 3 minutes after the hour.
See issue 531 for an explanation of this agenda format.

  • Announcements (2 minutes)
  • Triage (15 minutes)
    • Issue 773: Disable external communication possibilities with externally_connectable
    • Issue 774: Inconsistency: contextMenus/Menus
    • Issue 776: Proposal: Unpacked _locales
  • Timely issues (10 minutes)
  • Check-in on existing issues (20 minutes)

It would be great to discuss #762. In particular, I was speaking to @ghostwords and we were discussing how a mailto: link should behave in regards to the domainType and topFrameDomains. I'd like to see what we think as a group.

Would like to nominate #763, in which #668 and #117 have recently been merged into as more info and use-cases have been gathered since last discussion.

Would like to have opinions on the proposal for the side-panel lifecycle events: https://github.com/w3c/webextensions/pull/779/files
