astro.build repo is missing its LICENSE file #1370

Saw someone on Reddit asking if they could reuse the theme. I couldn't definitively answer.

The website footer states MIT but it links to the main package LICENSE file which talks about a few things, none of them astro.build.

If this is MIT, there should be a LICENSE file in here too, just to alleviate doubt. A CONTRIBUTING.md too?

Hi @oliwarner — thanks for asking!

The footer is perhaps a bit misleading — I believe it may have been intended to refer to Astro the tool rather than the site itself.

The site design and Astro's brand elements are not licensed for reuse. (And some aspects such as brand fonts are only available with a commercial license.)

Code examples in blog posts though are still fair game.
