9194 Progress Updates

Team 9194 is having a good experience testing system core. We built a kit of parts drivetrain using 4 neos and rev spark max motor controllers. The student, who have more ftc than frc experience got the system running with little or no adult support. The students reported setup and getting to push first simple driving code was easier than getting limelight functioning or photon vision up and running.
The only "issue" we have encountered so far is the robot signal light blinks all the time when the system has power.

We have demo'd our kit of parts drivetrain and system core at the Northeast Ohio FTC kickoff and voltage valley vibe off season FRC event. At both events the team had a pretty good crowd of interested students and mentors to demo to.

We have wired up but not implemented a Redux Phosphorus Canandcolor and a ThrifyBot Grapple Robotics LaserCAN

We are also looking forward to testing the blocks interface when it becomes available as the programs have significant experience with blocks from FTC.

We found the system significantly easier to go from nothing to a moving robot compared to a RoboRio, however we have a lot of FTC experience and it is much closer to that process.

To clarify, does the RSL LED on Systemcore itself (middle amber LED) blink all the time? Or just the externally wired Allen-Bradley signal light?

If it's the latter, make sure the light is wired correctly with a wire jumper between the La and Lb terminals.

It is the externally wired allen-bradley signal light. I'll check to make sure it is wired correctly. I would guess that is the issue. Our wiring has produced some Fun (in the dwarf fortress sense) lately. Not from the system core robot but from Voltage Valley Vibe competition robot.
