Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

If you delete a model, and then open a sequence it will allow you to map the effects to a full model, but you can't select a sub-model. Would be nice to use a sub model.

Image

Describe the solution you'd like

Pop up model window allows sub models to be selected

Describe alternatives you've considered**

  1. Open each sequence and manually copy the elements before deleting the model
  2. Assign an alias to the sub model for the old model name, but that is currently disabled see Add Alias to Submodel after creating a new submodel #4482
  3. Manually edit the XML file

Doesnt it default to the import mapping screen where you would expand the > to show the submodels?

@derwin12 It is giving me a drop down list in the screenshot that doesn't show sub-models. (I'm still on 2024.19, but I don't think this changed recently.)

It only opens the import screen if 10+ models are missing, kind of assuming 10+ means you are using the wrong layout. I think what Greg want to do is not possible ATM

Maybe Alex added the ability to Alias a Submodel to a old model name but you would have to do it in the layout before you open the sequence

If you choose Map to Other you will get the Import Effects window after this prompt.

@cybercop23 Thanks. That works. I close this.
