There is no feature to edit note title in the event that there is a typo for the title of the note.

Team's Response

As this is an intentional aspect of our design as described by our User Guide under the “Editing a Note” section.

This approach helps us to maintain data integrity and consistency within the application, the note title is the unique field and cannot be changed. Hence it preserves the integrity of the note content.

As note titles are unique identifiers for referencing within the application, allowing edits could lead to inconsistencies or confusion when trying to track and locate the notes.

Hence we will reject it.

Reason for disagreement: Hi team, thank you for your response regarding the inability to edit note titles.

While I understand that the current design treats the note title as a unique identifier and disallows editing to preserve data integrity, I would like to respectfully offer a counterpoint based on practical usage and user experience concerns.

1. Loss of Original Note Metadata (e.g., Creation Date): When users are instructed to delete and re-add a note just to correct a typo in the title, the original creation date of the note is lost. This becomes problematic for users who rely on the note's creation date to track the timeline of appointments or events. Re-adding the note creates an artificial timestamp, which undermines the historical integrity of the record.

2. Unfriendly UX for Minor Mistakes: Typos in titles are a very common and human mistake. Requiring users to delete and recreate a note, especially one with detailed content creates unnecessary friction. Over time, this can lead to user frustration and discourage continued use of the application. If users repeatedly encounter this inconvenience, they may feel that the app lacks flexibility or polish, reducing their incentive to rely on it for regular note-taking.

I believe allowing title edits enhances both usability and record accuracy, especially for users who rely on the note timestamps for tracking appointments.

Reason for disagreement: Regarding the change in severity from Medium to VeryLow, I would like to respectfully maintain that the appropriate severity should remain as Medium.

While this may not be a critical crash-level bug, the inability to edit note titles has a moderate impact on user experience. The workaround of deleting and recreating a note compromises the original metadata, such as the note creation date, which is important for users tracking their past activities.

Additionally, this issue is likely to occur frequently (as typos are common), and repeated inconvenience could discourage users from continued usage. Therefore, the severity level aligns more closely with Medium given its non-trivial impact on usability and user trust in the app's reliability.
