Game Plan

  • Hold seminars for skill acquisition outside of meetings so people can use these skills to contribute during meetings

    • Hack Michiana Seminar Series

    • Pilot session on AWS: Saturday, January 20th from 11 - 2 @ 101c3

    • Other subjects: Git/Github, Python, Bootstrap

  • Work on smaller scale projects and focus on creating deliverables

    • A previous issue we've had is not determining when things are declared "done"

    • These smaller scale projects can even involve simple data analytics projects using the Open Data Portal

  • Figure out the "passing of the torch"

    • What are the financial commitments to Hack Michiana? what is the cost?

    • Pass on social media accounts to active members so they can be updated on a regular basis.

  • Recruitment

    • Hold off on serious recruitment until the core members share a common "knowledge base" to help out new members

    • Have some kind of "badge" members can use in terms of things they can put on resumes

      • Successful projects, certifications, etc...
    • Reach out to IUSB students - not just CS/Info, but PolySci, Nursing, humanities, social sciences...

      • Ask faculty members to assign extra credit for participating?
