Diagnostic notification center — A bell in the status bar collects receiver conditions: stale stats, malformed inputs, and similar problems. Each notification shows when it was last seen ("just now", "5m ago"), can be snoozed for seven days, or hidden on the current device. Status bar rows your producer cannot provide (e.g. gain on dump978-fa) are omitted rather than left blank.
Foldable sidebar — The traffic rail can be collapsed to a narrow icon strip, reclaiming map space on smaller screens.
Producer classification — On startup, identd now identifies the receiver type (readsb, dump1090-fa, dump978-fa) before starting data watchers. The web UI stays reachable while classification is in progress, so connecting to a freshly-started instance gives you a useful page. Any misconfiguration is surfaced as a diagnostic notification rather than silent failure.
Trails persist across restarts — Position trails are written to a local cache and reloaded on process or container restart, so you do not lose trail history when identd is restarted or updated.
Replay — Scrubbing the timeline is smoother with pointer-drag support. Replay blocks now load in the correct time order when reconstructing trails, and the long startup gap that previously caused timeout errors is gone. Selected aircraft keep their full trail connected across replay and live.
Improvements
- Status bar cells (gain, uptime, max range, message rate) reappear immediately on page refresh.
- Map style no longer retains stale colors when the system theme changes between light and dark.
- Two raster basemap styles removed; the remaining styles are more faithfully tuned for day and night rendering.
- Stale aircraft trails are retained consistently on the map, including after the aircraft fades from the traffic list.
- Map style was not updating when the OS switched between light and dark while the system theme preference was active.
