ATX: Get to the Fest is a browser based 2D platformer where you play an armadillo who is following the sound of live music through Austin, TX! Collect as many music notes as you can, avoid enemies, enjoy the sites, and grab as many beers as you can find, all in the name of seeing a great show!

How To Play the Game

Available for play on itch.io: PLAY ATX: GET TO THE FEST

Character Controls

Run: left and right arrows
Jump: space bar (jump higher the longer you hold the button down)
Roll: automatic when running up or down slope

Game Play Features

Speed Arrows: increases your upward roll speed when you roll through them
Giant Flowers: jump on them to bounce
Level Exit: touch the door at the end of each level

Installation

To get started with ATX: Get to the Fest:

  1. Install Unity Hub
  2. Install compatible Unity version (2019.1.10). All versions are available for download here.
  3. Clone the repo
  4. Open the Unity Hub
  5. Click on the 'Projects' tab in the Unity Hub main dashboard
  6. Cick on the 'Add' button
  7. Navigate to the path where you cloned repo
  8. Click into the root directory titled 'ATX'
  9. Select the 'ATX_TheLittleArmoredOne' directory
  10. The project should now be in your list of projects. Click on it to open.
  11. Scripts are located here ATX/ATX_TheLittleArmoredOne/Assets/Scripts. Open them in your IDE of choice.

Future Plans

  • Volume control and music on/off functionality
  • Login/Logout functionality using Firebase for Auth
  • Scoreboard and Save functionality using Firebase
