Step 7: Group Analysis

For Group Analysis (average of multiple recording sessions):

Steps 1-6 have to be completed for each individual folder/session before computing group averages

1. Select all the folders for which you want to take the average in the Group Analysis section of Input Parameters GUI, the area highlighted with a red box on the screenshot below
   

2. In bar labeled 'Average Group? (bool), set the Average Group? parameter to True
   

3. In the Input Parameters GUI, Press 'Save to file' to save the group input parameters
   

4. Once saved, press the 'PSTH Computation' button on the left (Step5) in the Input Parameters GUI
   

5. To visualize the results of the Group Analysis, at the bottom of the Input Paramters GUI, set the parameter Visualize Average Results? to True, save it and then click on 'Open Visualization GUI'
   

6. A new window will open with:

• Group PSTH mean trace plot
• All the PSTH traces with group mean
• Combined plots of group mean for multiple events
• Note: Heatmaps created via Group Analysis will show plots where each row of the heatmap is the average for a single folder/session, aligned to a particular event, as indicated by the drop down menu named 'Event selector heatmap'
