A systems thinker learning in public.

I didn't study IT because I had interests in the field, it just started as a way to get a job. my interest grew from amazing mentors
who let me build things, break them, had patience and helped me along my journey.

During my studies, a few of us built a Tropical Disease Dashboard: raw
epidemiological data turned into something doctors could actually use to track
outbreaks and act faster. We were just dumb students figuring it out as we went,
but it ended up mattering to people who needed it, and that stuck with me.

It's also what pointed me towards open source. Wanting to build software that is
useful to more than just one company or product. That interest brought me to
imec-IDLab, where I got exposed to digital sovereignty, security, and the idea
that the web doesn't have to be as centralized as it currently is. I now work on
open source, linked data, AI and Knowledge Graphs
and I LOVE it

my most recent project is a decentralized architecture for media data,
using the Solid ecosystem, where users store their own viewing and listening history
in a personal data pod they control, instead of Youtube, Spotify, and every other
platform each locking it away in their own datasilo. I spent months at imec-IDLab
building a working prototype of it using shared vocabs and keeping interoperability in mind. It's the piece of work I'm proudest of so far and love to continue working on.
