Remove enscribed runes from ambush mob gear.#6498
Conversation
Removed setup_equip_block call from ambush logic.

a LOT of bandits spawn with completely broken gear . its made on purpose to prevent adventurers just buying scrolls for 20 mammons for a full set of plate. |
|
Remove the call not the proc. |
|
I hope this won't apply to the Bandits/Champions who frequently spawn with full/unique plate and are very easily cheesable, otherwise it'll completely screw with the balance. |
It won't, the NPCs that have that armor are Quest NPCs, not Ambush NPCs. This only removes the runes from the random folks that jump you in the woods, not the champions and such you mentioned! |
Yup, the NPCs that spawn from the scrolls are Quest NPCs, they're not the same as the random Ambush NPCs that this PR modifies. Only the Ambush NPCs will drop wearable armor. |

No reason for ambush mobs to have special magic clothes when the Tomb exists and offers much more loot and is frankly safer than getting ambushed. Random bandits having enchanted leather gloves to prevent looting is ridiculous. |
About The Pull Request
Ambush mob armor no longer is blocked from being worn, allowing people to properly loot and wear the equipment they get from corpses.
Why It's Good For The Game
The vast majority of ambush mob gear is fairly bad to begin with, much worse than you'd get from the Blacksmith, the Tailor, or even what you would start with as a combat role, and there are plenty of spawns of much better armor in the wilderness for Adventurers and Mercenaries anyway. This mostly allows for emergency armor or outfitting Towners and other folks with scavenged leather (they can already take the weapons), and it makes more sense than having this gear be inexplicably unwearable. Most of it is going to be in bad condition after the people wearing it are dealt with anyway so it'll open a market for refurbishing it, and it can still be salvaged by the Blacksmith and Tailor as it is currently.
