Chat Filter

The Computer Science Friendly Corner employs the use of an automated chat filter in order to control the usage of sensitive words. These words are separated by categories;

  • NEVER Never acceptable. This is largely racist, sexist, homophobic or transgender-phobic terms. Using such words will result in a ban.

  • POLITICAL These words have been deemed politically motivated. We have decided these words are only going to cause seperation and divide and as such have been prohibited. This chat filter category is disabled in the "Computers and Society" module channel. You will receive a warning for using these.

  • SENSITIVE This category includes various miscellaneous words which have been deemed unhelpful or unacceptable for use. You will receive a warning for using these.
