Introduced connection pooling using diesel's r2d2 integration to improve performance. Replaced per-request `init_db` calls with a shared `DbPool` managed by Actix state. Updated handlers to retrieve connections from the pool. Added regression tests for ping endpoint. Verified existing tests pass.

Updated handlers to retrieve connections from the pool. Removed the deprecated `init_db` function. Added regression tests for ping endpoint. Verified existing tests pass.
Refactor DB connection to use r2d2 pool. This replaces the inefficient pattern of establishing a new database connection for every request with a shared connection pool, significantly improving performance under load.
