What changed

Rewrote the README opening to build a narrative around real data before pitching the tool.

Structure

  1. Hook — METR study: devs are 19% slower with AI but think they're 20% faster. The perception gap is the real problem.
  2. Context — Anthropic paper on comprehension decline. Trust in AI tools falling.
  3. The gym analogy — coding was the brain workout; AI removed the friction that was doing the work. No equivalent of the gym exists yet.
  4. Tool pitch — same as before, but now earns its place in the story.
  5. Philosophy — ties back to the perception gap instead of just 'understanding compounds.'

What stayed the same

All technical docs, install instructions, commands, domains, progression system — unchanged.

Sources used

- Open with METR study (19% slower, thinks 20% faster) - the hook
- Add gym analogy for cognitive maintenance
- Cite Anthropic paper on comprehension decline
- Tie philosophy section back to the perception gap
- Keep all technical docs intact, no overselling

…king copy

- Rewrote README with sharp satirical voice (METR study hook, "skill-issue" as punchline)
- New tagline: "When's the last time you solved a problem without asking first?"
- Added dystopian glitch logo with brain at 12% battery
- Added glazed brain mascot with disconnecting neurons
- Created terminal_style.py with danger palette (#ff3366, #ff9900, #0a0a0f)
- Regenerated all terminal screenshots using new palette
- Structure: logo → badges → tagline → demo → mascot → mocking copy → install
