The amount of times I've had to use a coupler to do this..
..or use an = boolean to do this..
..is astounding.
A lot of larger projects in TurboWarp use variables like this. Now that it's been tried and tested, it would be nice to see this drop-anywhere feature on the block that needs it the most.
Projects that use variable reporters in Booleans might not work with Scratch. Maybe make this an experiment?
