Pygame-Space-Invaders

Created a space invaders like game for fun using Python and Pygame library
Player ship, alien ship, and planet images obtained from: http://millionthvector.blogspot.com/p/free-sprites.html
Explosion sprites obtained from: https://pngimage.net/explosion-sprite-png-1/
Sound effects created using BFXR

Requirements

python3
Pygame
numpy

Usage

Open a terminal and navigate to the directory containing all project files.
Enter this command to run the application:

python main.py 0

(replaceing a 0 with a 1 will display the FPS of the game)

Gameplay

You must fight against the never ending alien horde!
Use the 'a' key to move left and the 'd' key to move right.
You can shoot by pressing the spacebar.
Each time you beat a level (by shooting down all the alien ships), the alien ships will have increased speed The game will end after your ship has been hit 3 times.
