@cressie176 sorry to ping you directly. About 10% of RabbitMQ server repository's traffic are for an issue where versions before 0.10.7 of this client fail to connect to RabbitMQ 4.1.x despite us mentioning the need to upgrade under Breaking Changes.

I will put together a blog post on our end, and figured we should make the minimum compatible version clear in the README ASAP.

I moved the note slightly higher in the README and have published to npm. I've also created and pinned an issue advising users to update amqplib if they see the frame max error. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help.
