Use Cases

Jesse Millar edited this page Feb 23, 2017 · 8 revisions

Overview

  • All use cases are valid for touchpanel interaction and AWS API interaction unless otherwise noted
  • If the building-wide network is down, a user should still be able to control the room via the touchpanel

User Interaction

  1. Turn on display
  2. Turn on audio device
  3. Change input to a display
  4. Mute an output
  5. Set volume in a room
  6. Blank a display
  7. In a room with multiple displays, be able to set the input on a display-by-display basis
  8. Select audio input independent of video input in rooms where configuration allows
  9. Allow an administrative user to view metrics collected by the API and reported to Elastic for analysis
  10. Allow for control of source devices (E.g Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, etc.)

Footnotes

This is not currently on the roadmap. At our weekly team meeting on February 23, 2017 it was decided that we are holding off on source devices under the assumption that the majority of source devices will be removed from rooms in the not-so-distant future.
