Development Fund Proposal Submission

/proposals/Canton Native Yield Coin-CC20

Summary

Margarita Finance proposes CC20 — a Canton Coin-denominated agentic yieldcoin targeting ~20% APY on the Canton Network. CC20 tokenizes an institutional-grade revolving covered call strategy on CC, executed via multi-counterparty RFQ with Tier 1 market makers, managed by a regulated portfolio manager, and settled via a bankruptcy-remote Luxembourg SPV. Margarita has already deployed this infrastructure live for NEAR20 (NEAR Protocol) and SOL20 (Solana Foundation) — CC20 brings the same battle-tested yield engine natively to Canton Coin.

Checklist

  • Proposal file added under /proposals/
  • Milestones and funding amounts defined
  • Acceptance criteria included
  • Alignment with Canton priorities described

Notes for Reviewers

Margarita Finance is an operational protocol with live yieldcoins on Solana and NEAR. We have an existing relationship with Melvis Langyintuo (Canton Foundation Executive Director) who is named as Champion. Security audit is underway with Hacken. Legal structure is in place (Cayman and Swiss HQ, regulated calculation agent, Luxembourg SPV). We are seeking Foundation partnership and liquidity support to deploy CC20 as the first institutional yield primitive on Canton Network.

Gm! A few questions that could help refine the grant:

  1. Canton-native design: Could you share the Daml template design (subscription, redemption, NAV, weekly roll) and how CC20 composes with CC transfer instructions, Splice, and the utility pool?
  2. NAV oracle: Who signs NAV on-chain, at what cadence, and what's the fallback on stale/failed data?
  3. Track record: Could you share realized NEAR20 / SOL20 performance (incl. drawdowns) over the last 4–8 quarters, to separate target from track record?
  4. Audit & timeline: The M1 scope (contracts + Hacken audit in ~3 weeks) is tight — is a dual audit or a testnet acceptance gate on the table before M2/M3 unlock?
  5. Market makers: Are there signed LOIs from STS Digital, GSR, or others for secondary quoting?
  6. Milestone shape: Would the team consider back-loading more of the grant to audit sign-off, testnet acceptance, and demonstrated liquidity rather than code delivery?
  7. Governance: Can the Foundation and team confirm the recusal process for any dual Foundation / proposer roles, for a clean approval record?
