Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God, the LORD is ONE. — Deuteronomy 6:4
The complete 81-book canon restored in Ge'ez with word-by-word transliteration.
No KJV. No Western imperial overlay. The Word as the Ethiopian church preserved it for 1,700 years.
This repository exists for one reason: to make the complete, uncut Word of God freely available to anyone who seeks it.
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church preserved what the Western church buried — 1 Enoch, Jubilees, the Meqabyan, Psalm 151, and dozens of texts removed by post-Nicaea councils. The Dead Sea Scrolls have since confirmed that these "removed" books were mainstream Jewish scripture before Christ.
This project restores them. No gatekeepers. No paywalls. No copyright locks. Free forever.
For Dad.

tar xzf data/ethiopian-bible-chapters.tar.gzPrimary text: Ge'ez manuscript text from Beta Masaheft TEI (University of Hamburg) + IAM transliteration engine.
Excluded as primary: KJV, WEB, Brenton LXX English, NIV, ESV, or any translation descended from post-Constantinian imperial Western church tradition. These may appear in a clearly labeled comparison layer only.
Why: The Ethiopian Bible was translated from the Septuagint (LXX) and early Greek/Aramaic sources — NOT from the Masoretic Hebrew that Western Bibles use. Using Western translations as primary text would re-introduce the very corruptions this project exists to expose.
