Thank you for looking to contribute here, but I don't think it's a good idea to start exposing everything through environment variables. Even #2885 noted that the support is "experimental".

I'd recommend suggesting and discussing such additions in dotnet/aspire#10221 first.

Aspire has since exposed API's to serve static files, see dotnet/aspire#11275. This is also covered in the docs here https://aspire.dev/integrations/reverse-proxies/yarp/#static-file-serving.

I do agree that exposing everything through environment variables is not ideal, but this would at least remove a blocker from us and not be overly complicated while more optimal solution is figured out.

I will go ahead and comment on the Aspire repo too.
